E100 Bible Reading Challenge

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Welcome to the E100 Bible Reading Challenge! This is an exciting new way to read the Bible.

The Challenge is based on carefully selected short Bible passages – 50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament – that help you get the big picture of the Bible without getting bogged down.

To participate in E100 you need:

  • a Bible (in a translation you can understand)
  • The Essential Bible Planner (weekly readings are provided below)

And you’re good to go!

The Bible is unlike any other book because the author is not just another human being trying to make sense out of a broken and confusing world. In the Holy Scriptures human beings have been inspired by God to write His very word to His dear people.

The Bible is also different from any other book because it is not just the story of what God did long ago, but a living active word from God that does what it says. For example, the Scriptures don’t just talk about forgiveness but they are one of the means God uses to bring His forgiveness to us. The writer to the Hebrews reminds us, “The Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Also, if you have about 12 minutes you can watch a video introduction to the week’s readings which I have prepared with the help of Claude Massicotte. A link will be added here each week.
