Getting to know Holy Cross!

Our services are for all people and we want you to know that your whole family is welcome to worship together.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How people dress?  Our pastors wears robes and vestments for our worship services.  You will fnd a wide range of dress among the people who attend worship.  Some wear suits and dresses while others come in jeans and running shoes.  You are welcome as you are most comfortable.

What about my kids?  Children are welcome in our worship services.  For children under the age of 4 a Nursery is available during our services.  Sunday mornings between our two services we have a Sunday School program for children ages 3 to 13.

Where do I park?  Handicapped parking is provided directly behind the church at the entrance off of Stirling Avenue.  There are also a limited number of parking spots behind the church.  Parking is allowed on the side streets surrounding the church as well as in the parking lot of the Armoury located across the street from the church.

Questions about our Worship:

Our service is a liturgical service which means there is an opportunity for you to participate as the Pastor speaks and the worshippers respond. The Pastor leads the service and gives directions as to when we sit and stand (as you are able).

The music is a blend of hymns and more modern music.  Our servies include special instrumental music as well as many choral celebrations by our church choir, youth choir, small groups and soloists.

Our worship service will include the Lord’s Supper on the first and third Sunday of each month. It is here where those who have been baptized and have confirmed their faith and are in agreement with what we teach and confess come together to receive the very presence of Christ in bread and wine, His body and blood. If you are new to our congregation and not sure about coming to communion please feel free to talk to one of the pastors.  Anyone is welcome to come forward during communion to receive a blessing.  To receive a blessing simply cross your arms over your chest and the Pastor will pronounce a blessing upon you.

Greeter is usually at the doors to greet you as you enter the church and an Usher will help you find a place to sit. Feel free to ask them for directions as they will be pleased to assist you in any way they can.  We do have a Nursery in the basement available to help care for the needs of little ones.  It is located at the bottom of the stairs off Stirling Ave enterence.

The offering plate is located by the main entrance to the sanctuary. Please do not feel you have to give. The offering is one of many wonderful opportunities we have to respond to all God has given to us and to help support the ministry and mission both here and around the world.  Envelopes are available from an usher if you would like to receive a receipt for your offering.
